Honky Tonks on Broadway are a must. You can stroll the street and hop from spot to spot. Tootsies is the original bar down there but all of them have good music. I recommend going earlier in day/late afternoon/early evening. It can get very crowded at night.

Printers Alley is a cute music & bar street adjacent and walking distance from Broadway if you want a less crowded spot.

Black Rabbit is cool lounge nearby these two areas, more relaxed often with live music too.

Station Inn is a historic bluegrass “listening room” with seating downtown in the Gulch, walking distance from Broadway. Alison Krauss used to play here and big names pop in all the time.

Basement East is a small local music venue that’s a short drive from downtown with great acts. All kinds of music.

Bluebird Cafe - historic and cozy neighborhood venue for classic singer/songwriter sessions

The Blue Room, which is connected to and owned by Third Man Records (Jack White’s record label) is downtown and has cheap shows that start on time.

Zanies is the local comedy club and near downtown.

Dino's (East Nashville) is one of Nashville’s oldest dive bars and is open very late with really good bar food (not kidding) and a cozy little courtyard in the back. If you’re up late and looking for food away from tourists, go here.

3rd & Lindsley is a live music venue with nightly performances from eclectic roster of acts, plus food & drink.

Brooklyn Bowl where you can catch a rockin' show, strike down some pins, grab a bite, and sip and chill on our patio. We've got a little something for everyone.

Mercy Lounge is a cozy little club on Cannery Row that has been both locally-favored and nationally-renowned. The second story music venue is tucked neatly away in a low-key location half a mile from downtown, and its central location and metropolitan demeanor enable it to draw a diverse crowd of downtown tourists, hip-young socialites, and fans of live music alike.
